About Us

Are there seven daughters? Yes. My grandmother and great-grandmother each had eleven children. Of those eleven children there were seven daughters. Interesting to me is that the two people who gave me my start with quilting were both the youngest and the seventh daughter in their family---my mother and grandmother. This site is named in honor of them.

Growing up my mother made nearly every garment my sister and I wore. Both of my grandmothers quilted. One specialized in appliqué and the other in patchwork. Having grown up around quilting, I was surprised when I learned that a sewing machine and a quilting frame were not a part of everyone’s furniture.

When I grew up and married my husband thirty-eight years ago, I married into a quilting family. His mother and both grandmothers quilted out of necessity. Quilting is a tradition I hope to carry on. I plan on quilts becoming a part of my children’s legacy.

I started this business to fulfill my need for fabric and share my love of making comforting quilts for heirlooms and everyday use. I hope you enjoy what you find here and come back often. Please let me know if you have special requests for patterns or fabrics. I will do my best to locate what you need. If you are in need of exact color matches or just want to see a fabric better than what a computer monitor shows it please call or email for fabric samples.
